Just being a pessimist, Sri Lanka still have Murali and Mendis to bowl, the run rate needs to be pushed on a lot more while the seamers are on and before those two get the ball.

Saying that, both of them are mortals and can have off days, Zim certainly need to have at least one batsman who can stay there long term so that SL don't have a regular supply of new batsmen to bowl to.

Now 78-2 after 20 overs, Chibhabha 23* Taibu 16*.

Sri Lanka have immediately m eft ht the pressure on Zimbabwe's batsman by asking them into bat in the first ODI in Harare. This is the start of a five-match series, which the visitors are expected to win comfortably.

The Zimbabwe selectors have confirmed the availability of Sean Williams by naming him as one of the four reserves for the opening game. Williams, who had earlier announced his retirement from the Zimbabwe team, made a u-turn this week and rejoined the side in Bulawayo. He was named as non-playing reserve alongside uncapped wicketkeeper Foster Mutizwa, legspinner bowler Graeme Cremer and wicketkeeper Regis Chakabvsa.

Former captain Tatenda Taibu, whose future was uncertain leading to the series, has been included in the side. He makes a comeback alongside spinner Ray Price after they both missed the warm-up matches in Bulawayo.

i undestand why the board have left him out this fist game as he cant just pick and chose when he wants to play but looks like he will take some part in the series

Oh dear, Chibhabha has lost his head and his wicket.

Now 84-3 after 21.3 overs with Matsikenyeri in to join Taibu.

We are missing an extra batsman. Why pick three spinners and three seamers??. I fear that maruma is going to be turned inside out by mendis and murali!! :? ..Hope im wrong mind
We need more runs. I dont like the current run rate. Chibhabha's loss is a setback as I am sure he was set for at least a half century.
Taibu looks good. Hndled Murali's over quite well.

were in trouble now

:(

Just as things were beginning to look quite good :(

Matsikenyeri and Chigumbura out to consecutive balls, we certainly need to see Maruma earn his place and support Taibu.

Oh well, forget Maruma, big trouble now.

124-6 after 28 overs, Taibu 33*.

Chigumbura 0, Maruma 0, Utseya 0, Price 0, Mupariwa 0, Mpofu 0.

124-3 to 127 all out in 24 balls.

I hope that the ICC delegation aren't actually at the game today.

Bad luck on Taibu, he must be wondering what the hell is going on.
