Opening post

Pricey back to his usual self: 2-1-1-1 :)

Just observed that Obanda has a 40+ ODI average. Our best chance to reach 40+ avg. currently seems to be Waller / Chakabva.

And I have added a hint to the latest Photo Quiz question.

EDIT: Oh! Chakabva hasn't played after the debut 41. So, he is already above 40 ;)

For Waller to have a batting average of 40 or more by the end of today's match he'd need to make at least 72 before getting out, or at least 32 not out.
ZCF Hall of Famer
looks like price is in the groove
ZCF Hall of Famer
creamer on
ZCF Hall of Famer
by the way price is playing his 50th one dayer
ZCF Hall of Famer
Cremer hit for 6 :(

I'm noticing a trend though, if we keep the batsmen quiet at the beginning of the over they are taking risks off the last couple of balls. Like when Price took the wicket of Otieno, he was going for a shot from the last ball of the over.

Maybe bowling wide of off stump for the final ball wouldn't hurt, it might open up the possibility of a stumping if the batsman advances down the pitch for a shot.
ZCF Hall of Famer
the spinner seem to be bowling quite flat perhaps they need to toss the ball up a bit more
ZCF Hall of Famer
Let's see, 1 run off the over and 3 dot balls in a row. 2 more balls in the over, I wonder if we'll see an attempt at a big shot... I think we will.
ZCF Hall of Famer
gone cremer gets obanda
ZCF Hall of Famer
And as predicted! :W: :W: :W: :D :D :D :D

22.5 Cremer to Obanda, OUT, flighted nicely on middle and he tries to go over the long-on boundary, but Masakadza takes a comfortable catch

A Obanda c Masakadza b Cremer 49 (70b 6x4 2x6) SR: 70.00

cric info now has the stroy of vermulen up so it is definitly true lets hope he goes to india to play in the one day trophy there

Zimbabwe seem to be falling into this trap a lot lately, instead of keeping the pressure on the batsmen and bringing back someone like Chigumbura (yes he was expensive, but he has a knack of taking a wicket when he is brought back on) or Price, we seem to give the batsmen an easy ride - Masakadza and Dabengwa don't look threatening, they are just giving away easy runs.

This needs to be addressed, where is the killer instinct?
ZCF Hall of Famer
my personal opion is that utseya is feeling threatend by the emergance of cremer and price and is worried that he may not be worth his place in the team, therfore he is bowling others ahead of them
ZCF Hall of Famer
This is disgraceful:

Current partnership 76 runs, 14.5 overs, RR: 5.12

Thanks to 7 useless overs by Masakadza and Dabengwa that conceded 43 of those runs. Price, Mpofu, Chigumbura all had a lot of overs left - very poor captaincy, a real shame seeing of late he's made some pretty good on-field decisions. What does Price have to do to get a bowl?? Unless he is brought on in the next over or two he will not get to bowl his full 10 overs.
ZCF Hall of Famer
utseya gets one to break the partnership but should of been done earlier
ZCF Hall of Famer
If Cremer concedes 6 or less runs from his next over, he will have an ODI economy rate below 4.00 an over :)
ZCF Hall of Famer
hes gone for 6 so far and got a wicket come on 4 wickets what an effort

dot ball here and you will have your wish :D
ZCF Hall of Famer
Great bowling performance! 4/39 from 10 overs brings his career ODI economy rate to 3.96 :)

:W: :W: :W: :W:

In the scheme of things, he has taken the important wickets too; Tikolo, Obuya, Obanda and Kamande.
ZCF Hall of Famer
top performance by cremer

and utseya gets his encond 8 down and price back on the finish of the tail
ZCF Hall of Famer
UTSEYA'S AVERAGE FINALLY BELOW 50

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :W:
