Opening post

Afghans looking good to thump Sri Lanka in the opener.

Very odd scorecard. Sri Lanka took 20 off one over, but still only managed a mere 105 in 19.4 overs. That means they scored 85 runs from the other 18.4 overs at just 4.55 runs per over.

Afghanistan 83-0 after the power play :o

That first Afg over was ridiculously good. But yeah our team is very mentally weak. We never start anything off well. The first match is always a loss no matter what lmao. You guys should check out the Nissanka wicket

That was quite a performance from Afghanistan and it once again shows how vulnerable SL are, they have got some good youngsters in there now, but still a very vulnerable side.

It also shows that Afghanistan are always a threat in white ball cricket and there is a good reason why they are directly into the T20 WC main draw as well as sitting pretty in the WSL table.

Cracking game that between India and Pakistan and we've come up on top!!!

Hardik Panya has come through leaps and bounds. He is probably the future captain of team India once Rohit retires. Jadeja is such a vital member of the playing XI too.

Pakistan's non existent middle order was brutality exposed. I think they could do well to include Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Akmal in their line up instead of Shah and Asif Ali. Hugely impressed with Naseem Shah, as I said earlier he can form a very formidable pair with Shaheen.

Can blame the middle order but Rizwan a big part of the reason Pakistan lost the game. 43 off 42 balls in a T20 opening the batting is criminal. Someone should have shot him after about 20 balls.

Also what was with both of their pacers having cramp at the end?! They had only bowled 3 overs each wtf. Let's hope they never have to play a Test match!

Didnt watch but I thought the whole problem was that the middle order was very prone to collapses. So one of the top 3 has to somehow stay in

Prolly the extreme heat. Temps hit 45 degrees during the day and probably still close 38-40 even at night.

Afghanistan is crazy good in these conditions

BD vs AFG coming down to the wire in a low scoring game.

Zadran with 2 sixes...game over for BD.

BD vs SL will be a knockout match!

Something is terribly wrong with Bangladesh.

SZ, that Ind-Pak game was played on a pretty tough wicket, I think Rizwan was playing based on the conditions. Rohit and Virat did pretty much the same.

In fact until the 15th over of the 2nd innings, I thought Pak had the upper hand. It was only that late blitz by Pandya, who is in the form of his life, that got the game back in India's favour.

Ban V SL should be a cracker. On form, I think SL are slight favts.

Super excited to see HK and India this evening. They gave them a proper scare in 2018, HK 170-0 chasing 280 (50 overs) if I recall. They collapsed from there, but still.

They've a penchant for giant killings https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/wor ... -scorecard - I was lucky enough to meet the hero Munir Dar at Kowloon Cricket Club a couple of weeks after that game.

Weird team Hong Kong. Got beat by Italy this year

Did pretty well! Stunning hitting from Yadav, and admittedly very poor death bowling from HK. Apart from those few overs they were pretty competitive actually.

Wow! What a match. Throughout that run chase, until the last over I thought it was under Bangladesh's control, and yet they found a way to lose.

How did they manage to lose after getting that Karunaratne wicket is beyond me! Why on earth did Mossadek and Mehidy didn't bowl a single ball is also beyond me!!

Congratulations to SL though, they held their nerve really well.

BD should have defended that. Too many mistakes.

Don't they have 2 decent openers in the whole of country, Kriterion? So much so that Sabbir Rahman and Mehidy Hasan had the open the innings and played as pure batsmen!?

Mossasek has been one of their better performers with both bat and ball in recent games, he batted way too low at no. 7 and then didn't bowl a single over!!! That eas shocking for me.

The other Mehdi hasan, the lad who was bowling no balls, looked no good to me, I know he has played earlier but i haven't seen much of him. Today he never looked like someone who should bowl hos full quota, yet he did.
