Keegan Meth

Playing Role: RA Fast-Medium / RH Middle Order Bat

Coaching Qualifications: ZCU Level 1

Major Teams: Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe A, Zimbabwe under-19

Keegan Meth (20) is a talented all-rounder - a lively pace bowler and technically sound batsman who after issues with Zimbabwe Cricket is playing club cricket in South Africa in an attempt to break into the Highveld Lions first class set-up. Meth was a stand-out player for Zimbabwe at the 2006 Under-19 World Cup. He took the new ball and hit 91 against Sri Lanka in the Super League play-off. However, he was another player forced to rise rapidly through the ranks because of Zimbabwe's shortage of options. A week after the Under-19 World Cup and at the tender age of 18, he made his ODI debut against Kenya in February 2006 bowling three overs taking 1 for 6. He scored his maiden ODI fifty (53) in his second match but only played another three matches, including two on tour to the West Indies. Meth remains a talented player who is looking to forge a career in South Africa. Following on from his ODI experience, he played a season's league cricket in Dublin in 2007, scoring 333 runs at 41.62 and taking 20 wickets at 12.10. He is now seeking a stint in the UK in the 2009 season and would represent an exciting, young option in league cricket.
